development and learning

Parents notice developmental leaps and easier learning after their children receive CST. Growing up presents many challenges for children as they work through developmental stages, experience life’s emotional ups and downs and learn new lessons and skills. CST facilitates the release of accumulated pressure and tension in the nervous system, allowing a child to relax and feel at ease, confident in themselves and their abilities.

Falls

These early years are a period of tremendous growth and development, with the structural proportions of the young child’s body changing rapidly. As any parent has witnessed, when a child begins to stand and take steps they are embarking on years of falling down. Most of these falls will be of no consequence, but some will have a lasting effect.  Impacts to the head and tailbone are especially important, potentially compressing the upper neck and lower back.

CranioSacral Therapy is very effective in releasing compressions of the lumbar and cervical spine, sacrum/pelvis, and cranio-facial relationships which are often the result of so much falling. If left untreated, these compressions can predispose the child to back, neck and headache problems later in life.

Emotions

These years are also the time when sensitive parents will notice when a child begins to habitually store physical and emotional stress in their body, typically the neck, jaw and tummy.  These early habits are an opportunity to help the child bring awareness to how they hold energy in their body and help them learn to breath and release stress.

CranioSacral Therapy is a great help in this process.

Ear Aches

Ear aches and ear congestion can be a challenge for many young children. The ability for the ears to drain properly can be compromised by a eustachian tube which has become blocked from cranial compression during birth. CranioSacral Therapy can be very effective in helping to clear the eustachian tube and restoring the pressure balance of the ear.
